Yuxi Ice Porridge
This is ice porridge from Yuxi, famous for its refreshing taste. Put the glutinous rice and water into the pot and bring to a boil over high heat ; simmer over low heat until the rice turns into porridge. After cooling, add rock sugar to sweeten or pour brown sugar over it. Finally, put red dates and sprinkle with sesame seeds. It becomes the first choice for Yuxi people to relieve the heat in summer.

Papaya Water:
Papaya Water is a refreshing beverage from Yuxi. To prepare it, first mix water with edible lime powder, stir, and let it settle, using only the clear water on top and discarding the sediment. Next, place papaya seeds into a cloth, add water, and rub vigorously until no more juice can be extracted. Then, add white sesame seeds stirring quickly until it reaches a jelly-like consistency. Allow it to sit for a while before consuming. Finally, you can add a syrup made from brown sugar or rose sugar as a seasoning.

Doumo Tang (candy)
Doumo Tang is a traditional product from Tonghai, Yuxi, known for its characteristics of being "fragrant, sweet, crispy, and crunchy, with no residue upon consumption." It is made from yellow soybeans, carefully crafted with white sugar and maltose. This sugar is as white as milk, thin as paper, with a sweet yet non-greasy taste, and a light, crispy texture that is very refreshing.
